The festival was a celebration of Hong Kong’s rich and diverse cinematic culture.
Founded in 2024, the Festival returned and was held from the 25th of July to the 10th of August, bringing together an exciting line-up of Hong Kong feature films and short films that showcase the city’s unique storytelling spirit and creative brilliance.

As our President shared, the words of filmmaker Andrei Tarkovsky, remind us that when cinema “escapes from the power of money,” it becomes “first among the arts.”
Film has the power to build bridges, preserve heritage, and connect stories across generations. Through this festival, we celebrate not only Hong Kong cinema but also the shared narratives that bind our Chinese-Australian communities.
